Srinagar, May 02 (KNO) : Continuing its efforts to weed out the menace of Drug addiction from valley, Srinagar police arrested a notorious & chronic drug peddler from Saina-Bawa, Ghulam Mohahmmad Sheikh alias Gul Nuik son of Mohammad Sultan Sheikh resident of Baran-Pathar Batmaloo & recovered 8 kilograms of Poppy Straw (Fukki) & 105 grams of Cannabis from his possession.
A formal Case under FIR No. 80/2018 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Batamaloo & investigation taken up. By and large, locals have hailed the efforts of the Srinagar police in curbing social crimes especially drug menace. The drive will continue with same zeal in whole valley particularly in district Srinagar with the active cooperation of general public.
